Got a call from this number claiming I’m under investigation for HMRC tax evasion. When I asked if it was a genuine government call, the bloke said yes and gave his name as Mark Carlton Smith. He then asked for my name, postcode and if I was employed - I told him I’m on benefits. After that, he said something about a misunderstanding and promised not to bother me again. Feels like a scam to me, but if anyone knows anything about this, I’d be grateful for some advice.
