I can categorically state this was a dodgy scam! Whatever you do, steer clear of the link in that text message. It claimed I had been near someone confirmed to have Omicron and urged me to buy a PCR testing kit from their fraudulent site. A complete con!

They keep calling about the virus and then ask you to send something in the post so they can get your card info. Seems dodgy to me!

I received a message from this number saying I’d been near someone with Covid and included a link to book a PCR test. It looked like a gov.uk site, but when I clicked, it asked for my personal info and card details to pay £1.57 for postage. It seemed dodgy, especially since it was my work phone and I only use that during work hours. Plus, none of my colleagues got anything like that. So, I just ignored it.
