I've had calls from this bloke who rings up from 07485486558 saying I've missed a delivery from Royal Mail and want me to pay to get it sent again. He even tried getting my card info to sort it all out. Thing is, I ain't waiting on anything from Royal Mail at all! Pretty clear it's the same guy behind a bunch of different numbers.

An innocent party had this number wrongly linked to them because Ricky Stokes, who has a criminal record, was using it to put up fake ads on Gumtree and other sites, plus he kept giving the number to people advertising stuff. This caused the poor person to get loads of unwanted calls and messages. On top of that, Stokes made up false complaints here, even sharing the person's home address to cause more trouble. He got caught and admitted to harassment charges in court.

just got a call from this number claiming to be amazon asking me to press a button to talk about an order. apparently, the owner is based at 21a plymouth road, barnt green, birmingham, b45 8jf - at least according to a bunch of folks who looked it up. seems he’s living in quite a posh place! makes you wonder how he’s affording that. really hope someone puts a stop to this scammer soon, it’s about time he got called out for it.

Just like the guy before me said, the bloke who says he’s being bothered actually sends out a Gumtree URL, probably trying to trick folks into clicking it. I reckon the number’s owner is up to no good, possibly trying to spread malware. Definitely report this one!

One thing that struck me as odd was when the person, who says they’re being targeted, texted me a Gumtree link. Seemed dodgy, so i didn’t bother clicking it. Honestly, why not just switch the phone number instead? The cops should look into this right away, it all sounds pretty fishy to me.

This is actually my phone number. I’m not the one ringing anyone about Gumtree ads. Some bloke called Ricky Stokes is spamming loads of people with messages that say he’s tried to ring them from my number. He hasn’t called anyone at all, he just wants folks to get in touch with me instead. Most of these people seem to be selling cars on Gumtree. If you hear from him, please make sure to report it to Gumtree and don’t bother calling or texting me back.

This idiot is still at it. I put up an ad on Gumtree and got an email from some bloke called "Stuart" saying he’d tried ringing me twice but my line was busy, asking me to ring him back asap as he was keen to see the car that evening. Right after I hit "Post Ad," I got three calls in quick succession: one from a blocked number, another from an 0800 number two minutes later, and then a call from a mobile, all from those accident claims firms. Total joke.

The text had loads of weird characters, so I asked him if it was really his number. He said “odd how? This call seemed really dodgy so I looked it up online. Honestly, this bloke deserves to be reported and given a good telling off. He said, "Hi, I want to have a look at it later tonight, so ring me anytime after 6pm as I'm still working now." The number he left was O7595 then 5985O5. Cheers, Stu.

Got a late night message on Gumtree about my car, well after 3am, which honestly felt a bit off. They wanted me to ring them after 9 in the morning to set up a viewing. The phone number was weirdly chopped up, too. My hubby ended up ringing them before I was even awake, but no one picked up. I did a bit of digging and found this site - definitely not a nice situation. The guy’s name was Stuart if it helps anyone else. What a strange way to behave!

Got an email from Fareem through Gumtree saying his missus Vicky was interested in checking out my car. He asked if I could text her to sort a viewing and even spaced out her phone number so it wouldn’t get flagged by Gumtree. Was a bit odd since my number’s right there on the ad - why didn’t he just call or message me? Decided to look the number up here and turns out it’s marked as a scam meant to rob you of cash. Steer clear of this one.

When I rang back, no one picked up but the call did connect briefly somewhere, which ended up costing me 45p on my home phone.
