Got a call saying it was HMRC about some customs duty I supposedly owed and that legal action was coming. They said they'd send a legal letter or I could press '1' to speak to someone. I pressed '1', and when the bloke asked for my details, I told him it sounded like a scam and I’d wait for a proper letter instead. He hung up right after. The guy sounded really unsure and quite unprofessional. HMRC always contacts you first properly and never threatens legal action from the get-go. Plus, they don’t call from private mobiles, only official numbers. Totally a scam, no doubt about it!
