This sort of scam has been around forever, it's even been shown a few times on some of the main TV channels that did a few shows about phone scams a while back. They rely on the fact that kids don't really call anymore, they just text. I sent the message over to 7726 like the police recommend on their Action Fraud site for reporting phishing.
