Got a text from this number saying it was my son's new phone. Then another message popped up asking for help with a direct debit payment. I thought it might be a scam at first, so I was pretty worried until I managed to check with my son and clear things up.

Somebody pretending to be me texted my oldest daughter from a different number, then went on to ask if she could sort out a direct debit because supposedly the new number and the banking app weren’t set up right. Total scam alert!!!
