I’m pretty sure this was a scam. The guy rang pretending to be from our energy company, said he was our supplier and needed some info. He even got the correct name of our provider, which made it seem legit at first. But after checking a bit more, it was obvious it was dodgy.

this number rang me at work today saying they were from haven power and that there was an issue with our electricity meter. since we do use haven power, i let them talk for a bit but when they started asking questions about our gas meter i got suspicious and ended the call. ive blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number earlier, and trust me it’s a total scam. Like others have mentioned, they claim to be from BT Outreach but don’t fall for it, just end the call immediately!

Got a call from this number, but no one spoke, then they just ended it. Feels like one of those scam calls to me.

beware of this one, some woman with an indian accent pretending to be from bt openreach called me. she said they’d been doing some local work and that my router was set to the wrong channel, needed switching to channel 786. looking at other comments here it seems these scammers might hack into your mobile accounts so the call looks legit. if they convince you to change your router settings, they can get into your computer, lock you out, and demand money to fix it. just ignore and hang up, don’t fall for it!
