Someone rang up pretending to be from Amazon and tricked my wife into clicking a link on the laptop, which let them take over and try to get into her bank details. Thankfully, I shut everything down before they could take any cash. The laptop got all messed up and had to be completely wiped and set up again. Lots of other calls from numbers with the same area code seem to be doing the exact same scam.
