I received what I thought was a routine automated call from HMRC, warning me about potential tax penalties if I didn't take swift action. Prompted by their first option, I found myself speaking to someone who claimed to be a consultant, yet he was asking for my personal information right off the bat. When I requested some sort of verification, his tone turned unprofessional and he abruptly disconnected the call. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
