2 yearsClaimed to be from Lloyds Bank and informed me that my bank account had been breached.Lloyds Bank2 yearsGot a text pretending to be from my bank, saying I needed to confirm a card payment that supposedly got declined. It asked me to reply YES or NO. I replied and right after, I got a call asking for my card number and security code. I ended the call straight away and rang 159 to check if it was really my bank, but it wasn’t - quite clearly a scam! It’s really scary how fast they act, and it’s easy to panic and make mistakes. Never share your card info over the phone. Make sure you block the number!!!2 yearsGot a call from a hidden number saying they were Halifax fraud team. Things didn’t seem right so I hung up straight away but they kept ringing me over and over. After a while they sent a text, that’s how I managed to get their mobile number.Halifax3 yearsGot a call saying somebody tried to take money from my account, but thankfully the bank had already frozen it. They wanted me to confirm if it was me or not. The mobile number seemed a bit dodgy, so I rang my bank myself and they said they hadn’t sent anything like that. Definitely a scam. Reported it to the bank right away, blocked the number and didn’t even bother to reply. Stay careful, folks!3 yearsCheers for letting us know it wasn’t you who made the payment. We’ll give you a ring as soon as we’re able, anytime between 8am and 9pm. If you need to get in touch outside those hours, please phone us on 443330459641.3 yearsThis was defo a scam call. They were pushing us to "cancel" a payment or something like that. Super dodgy. Never share any info with these types.3 yearsThis has to be a total con.3 yearsSomeone rang me saying they were from Lloyds Bank, warning me about some dodgy transactions on my account.Lloyds Bank3 yearsJust had a rather dodgy experience with a number I didn’t recognise. They claimed to be from Halifax’s fraud team, but I was suspicious right from the start. After I expressed my frustration over the lengthy wait, I suddenly received a generic text from Halifax. Shortly after, I got another message, not unlike what others have described, urging me to respond with a yes or no to prevent a transaction. Thankfully, I had the sense to log into my account and blocked my debit card just in time. However, the caller then returned to say, “Cheers for sticking around for half an hour! That'll be £20 a minute, mate. You’ve been had!” followed by a laugh. I couldn’t help but let loose with a few choice words.Halifax3 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be Halifax Bank, saying there was an attempt to use my daughter's card in Liverpool for some Groupon thing. They actually knew loads of info about her and her card! Feels super dodgy and definitely a scam, watch out!Halifax BankGrouponLiverpool3 yearsI got a call from 02071938737 saying there was a suspicious charge on my credit card for some music magpie service tonight. They wanted me to confirm sending a replacement card to a different address, not mine. I quickly said I’d hang up and contact my bank first. After I ended the call, they sent a text from 07588060741 asking me to reply yes or no about the purchase. Weirdly, they already knew which bank my card was with and even the last four numbers!Music Magpie3 yearsBeware of a call claiming to be from MBNA about suspicious activity on your credit card. They try to convince you they'll refund the charges, asking to review every single transaction. Afterwards, they send a text that’s meant to confirm the refund, but the message is strangely worded, pushing you to reply yes. The amounts involved can be huge, like thousands of pounds! Strangely enough, those supposed “refunds” then show up as actual purchases on your card statement! Definitely sounds like a scam to me!BEWAREMBNA3 yearsJust received the same message as before, and I’m certain it’s a bank scam. Make sure to block this number immediately!3 yearsJust like what others have mentioned, I received a message from this number requesting my approval for an online transaction (Halifax). I contacted my bank’s fraud department, and they reassured me that it's all above board since Halifax and MBNA operate under the Lloyds Banking Group and that number is a standard one they utilise across the board.HalifaxMBNALloyds Banking Group3 yearsJust like the previous one, but this time it’s from MBNA.MBNA3 yearsI received a rather convincing text purportedly from Lloyds Bank, stating that my Lloyds Bank Platinum MasterCard ending in 3579 was attempted to be charged online at The Royal Mint for a sum of £300.00 on 30-01-2023 at 16:36:00, but the transaction was declined. The message encouraged me to reply YES if I had indeed made that transaction, or NO if I hadn’t, suggesting that responding to the text was quicker than calling them. To add to the confusion, I also got another message with no visible number, claiming to be from Lloyds, indicating I would soon get a text confirming recent activity linked to my card ending in 3579. However, I'm completely certain there has been no such activity on my account. It left me quite unsettled!Lloyds BankThe Royal MintLloyds3 yearsReceived a rather alarming call from MBNA regarding dubious transactions on my account. They mentioned I’d receive a text to confirm by responding with 'yes.' To top it off, the conversation took a rather unpleasant turn towards the end.MBNA4 yearsI got a text from 07588060741 after I tried making a payment through Lloyds bank. It felt a bit off since Lloyds never usually contact customers from a mobile number like that. So, I’m thinking it could be some kind of scam. I just decided to delete the message to be safe. Better not take any risks with these things!Lloyds BankLloyds4 yearsI've had a right hassle with these dodgy PayPal and Halifax characters (absolute scoundrels).Halifax4 yearsGot loads of dodgy messages popping up on my phone, definitely some kind of scam going on.4 yearsCould this potentially be an online shopping scam?Submit Your Own Report (07588 060741)
