Got a text from 07587961296 early morning, like around 3:15 am on the 15th of Feb 2021. It said I’m owed a £376.84 tax refund from HMRC and asked me to check my details by clicking on this link: [#][#]refund-process[###]. Seemed dodgy to me!

Got a call saying I was owed a tax refund - total scam. Best thing to do is just block the number and report it.

Got a message saying I was due a tax refund, and after reading through other people's comments, it looks like the amounts they got were pretty much identical to mine. Bit weird, right?

Received a call from GOVUK saying I’m owed £376.84 from HMRC as a tax refund. They told me to confirm my details on some link like [#][#]refund-process[###] before they can sort it out. Seemed a bit dodgy to me so I didn’t click on it. Anyone else got something similar?

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, telling me I had a tax refund of £376.84 waiting. They wanted me to click on a link to confirm my details to sort it out. Looking it up, I found loads of others got the same message with the same exact refund amount. Definitely a scam.

Got a text out of the blue saying I’d just added a new payee on my Lloyds bank account, which is weird cos I don’t even bank with Lloyds. Then they told me to click a link if I wasn’t the one who did it. Later on, I got another message saying it was from HMRC, saying I’m owed £376.84 in tax and all I need to do is fill in a form by clicking their link. Felt dodgy straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming I was owed a £376.84 refund from HMRC. I just blocked the number straight away and reported it to the real HMRC. Avoided getting scammed!
