The call started off quiet, then suddenly an automated voice claimed my National Insurance number had been at risk. There was no way to verify who was calling since they didn’t have a proper caller ID or anything legit. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away because that’s obviously not how these official services contact you.

I was convinced this was a scam, especially after I calmly told him I was expecting someone else to ring me and he just started shouting swear words at me. Honestly, this kind of behaviour should be taken up with the police.

Got quite a few calls today and finally picked up one. A bloke claimed he was checking into my bank stuff. I told him to buzz off and then he started swearing at me! I told him, “Oi, this call’s being recorded and I’m reporting it to the cops.” Proper appalling behaviour.

They say they’re from the CAB, but honestly, that’s not true. The CAB only contacts you if you’ve signed up and have a caseworker assigned. Their calls always come from a hidden number and they normally text you beforehand so you’re aware of the call. Honestly, they don’t just ring people out of the blue!

Avoid picking up if this number rings! I got called by some total weirdo who just kept making weird breathing noises the whole time. My kid was messing about nearby and when I asked what he wanted, the guy just told me to shut that noise up. What a charming bloke, eh!
