I received a call from a woman inquiring if I was Mrs. so-and-so. I replied in the negative. She proceeded to ask for Mr. so-and-so, my partner. I explained that he wasn't available, but that I was his partner. She mentioned that her cousin had been undertaking some construction work nearby and wondered if leaflets could be distributed via the arena. Curious, I probed into which area she meant, and she mentioned Leek, Stoke. I informed her that I don’t reside in Leek at all, and that seemed to be the end of the chat.

Classic scammer ploy, if you ask me, much like what we've seen from others before. The truth is, there isn't any building work happening locally, and honestly, if he truly was a skilled tradesperson, it seems a bit odd that he'd have to rely on his wife for leads. It’s worth noting, dear folks, that a reputable tradesman wouldn’t stoop to the level of unsolicited calls to find work.
