Texts came through from numbers +44 7485 629676 and +44 7585 192224 claiming to be from HSBC, saying someone tried making a payment using my account. They told me to click a link if I hadn’t authorised it, but the link itself didn’t even say HSBC anywhere. I didn’t go near the link and rang HSBC directly. They confirmed it was a scam and told me they’d never ask anyone to verify payments through a link like that. I’d guess this applies to pretty much all banks, not just HSBC.

Got a dodgy text supposedly from HSBC saying a payment tried to go through on a new device. Total scam, don’t fall for it and make sure to block the number straight away.
