Today I got a call from this number where the person said they were from BT Openreach. They told me they were doing some work nearby and claimed my internet had been hacked. They then wanted me to type something into Google to ‘verify’ their identity, saying if I didn’t do it, they’d disconnect my phone and internet and it would cost me more than £300 to fix. I told them I needed to contact BT myself to check but they started getting really pushy and rude down the phone, so I just ended the call.
