Got a voicemail saying it was "urgent" and asked me to hit a button to speak with someone about my life insurance. Problem is, I've never even had a life insurance plan.

Some bloke rang saying he was David Wilson from Virgin Media. Sounds like he’s been in India ages, cos he’s got that proper local twang down. I know their script inside out (e for echo, v for victor, e for echo and all that), makes me think about starting my own call centre - just gotta nail the Indian accent first! It’s kinda amusing to go along with it (“How do you spell dot?”). Managed to keep him on the phone for 40 minutes before he cottoned on. Whatever you do, don’t download anythin from them. By the way, why isn’t there a ‘Scammer’ option in the Call Type menu?

Got a ring from this number earlier and instantly thought it was a dodgy scam. Next time I might just keep the line open and let them rack up charges, maybe they’ll get bored and stop calling!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he was from Talk Talk, said there was an issue with my router. I rang my broadband company straight away and they confirmed it was a scam. Watch out for this one, folks.

Got a call from some bloke claiming there was an issue with my router, said he was from my internet provider. When I asked which one, he said TalkTalk. I told him that wasn’t right and he just hung up quick. I’m ex-directory and never even had TalkTalk, so no idea how they got my number. They’ve called loads of times from different numbers. Usually I just hang up, but think I might play along next time to see what they really want.

Definitely a scam call claiming to be from Talk Talk. They tried the classic “your router/computer has issues” trick on me. Once I started asking tricky questions, they just cut the call. Would recommend you do the same and not fall for it.

I use an answer phone and always screen my calls. If the person on the other end hangs up right after the automated message, I figure it’s probably a scam or one of those unwanted cold calls. After that, I just look up the number online to see who tried calling me.

I get calls nearly every day, supposedly from TalkTalk. I actually switched providers a year back. Now, I charge TalkTalk £25 each time they ring me, since they didn’t keep my details private. I’d recommend others try this too.

Same here, got a call at 9.40 sharp on a Saturday morning and I’m ex-directory as well. I’m on the TPS list but they can’t seem to stop calls from abroad. Got one yesterday and then today another one from a new number, which I've now blocked and reported to Talk Talk, my internet provider. Told the caller I’d hang up and contact Talk Talk myself to check if they’re legit, and the line just cut off real quick. When are they gonna learn and quit bothering us?

They just called me once more, but from another number. A few weeks back, I almost fell for their scam before I realised what was going on. I’d even switched on my PC because of some router issues. I told them to get lost and blocked the number, but they keep ringing from new ones. Next time, I’m not holding back with what I say.

They rang me today. I told the person that the only way they could have got my name is through some kind of scam, and that their call was a con. I also said I'd be reporting all these calls to my network provider. Then they just hung up on me. I’ve got in touch with my provider again about this and they said they would block the number. I didn’t think to ask if they meant just from my phone or from every phone on their system. I’m ex-directory, so only a handful of people have my number and they know not to ring me on it. So I pretty much know any call I get on this number is dodgy.

He rang me this morning saying he was from my TalkTalk provider. I told him straight up he wasn’t and that he was trying to scam me. Then he started swearing like mad. I said I’d inform the police but he didn’t stop. So I just ended the call.

Got a call from this number at about 10 in the morning. Like others said, some bloke with an Asian accent pretending he’s from TalkTalk. It's shocking that TalkTalk customers have to go through this. They outsource their call centres to other countries and then wonder why workers are nicking personal info and selling it. This has happened to 3 Mobile customers too. Just got a call today and thanks to my caller ID, it showed up as an "International Call." I don't make or get any international calls, so I was pretty sure it was a scam. I’ve blocked the number now, but these scammers always switch up their tricks. TalkTalk have told me more than once that they never ring customers straight away without the customer contacting them first.

My mum got a call from this number today, so I picked up and told them to stop ringing. The guy on the line, who sounded Indian, said I sounded annoyed. I told him I was, because they keep phoning nonstop. Then he started calling me names, was really rude, and said some very offensive stuff about putting himself in my mouth and told me to f**k off. I ended up swearing back and hung up. What a nasty, horrible person - someone needs to do something about this creep.

Got a call today 20/03/17 around 11.40am. Again from ‘Talktalk’ tech support (Indian accent) saying there’s something wrong with my router or something! I told the bloke he was a scammer and just cut the call. These lot are really a pain - always calling from some call centre, switching numbers all the time but they’re all after the same thing - trying to nick money from our bank accounts. I reckon these should be flagged as dangerous, especially for folks who are more vulnerable out there.
