Got a voicemail claiming to be from Visa about a payment that supposedly went through. Obviously, it wasn’t really Visa. They told me to press 1 if it wasn’t me, so I did. I got connected to a woman who started walking me through cancelling the transaction, but I didn’t follow through with what she asked. After nearly ten minutes I casually said, “Actually, that payment was mine.” She sounded a bit thrown off and hung up quickly. At least while I was on the line, they weren’t targeting someone more gullible.
