I got a call from a recorded bloke speaking proper English, claiming to be from the National Crime Agency (NCA). He said my National Insurance number was involved in several dodgy activities and mentioned stuff about HMRC tax issues and a criminal case, plus a fine. They asked me to press 1 to sort it out, likely asking for money. It was clearly a scam. I’ve reported it through HMRC’s GOV.UK fraud reporting page and blocked the number that rang me.
