Today, I got a call on the landline from this number and a man claimed he was 'DC Andrew Smith' from Hammersmith Police. He told me they'd found some credit cards linked to my husband and that they traced them back to our number. Something felt off, so I asked if I could ring the actual Hammersmith police station myself. He insisted I should hang up and then call 999 straight away, saying 999 would confirm his badge number, which he gave me. After I ended the call, I heard some strange noises and him asking me to pick up again and call 999. Sounds like a classic scam to me.
