I got a recorded message from a man saying he was from HMRC and telling me there was some fraud linked to me. I quickly ended the call, blocked the number, and reported it to my phone provider. This isn’t the first time I’ve had these kinds of calls, thankfully I’ve never been duped, but I can imagine some folks might get worried. HMRC would never reach out like that - no one should be fooled by it. They’ll probably try calling from a different number soon, and honestly, I wish there was some way to stop these scammers from ever trying this again.
