It definitely seemed like a scam to me. I got this robotic voice telling me a letter from HMRC was sent back and legal steps are happening, then asking me to hold for an operator. But honestly, HMRC wouldn’t do it like this - they’d have a real person speak to you straight away, not some automated nonsense. Best steer clear of these fraudsters completely.
