I got a text claiming to be Amex asking me to confirm a big transaction. Luckily, I had the real Amex number saved, so I could tell it was a fake. I went ahead and blocked the sender. The message included a number to ring back, 03335671154, which I checked online and found loads of reports from others having the same issue.

Got a text from this number that used my name and pretended to be American Express. It said there was a pending payment of £1,798.78 at Kraken Ltd and told me to just reply 'Y' if I made it or ring 0333 567 1154 if I didn’t recognise the charge. I checked both numbers online and saw loads of reports calling it a scam, so I went ahead and blocked them and reported it. Nearly got caught out though! Just a heads up to everyone.
