Earlier today I got a call on my home phone from a man with what sounded like an Indian or African accent. He told me to withdraw money from my bank, starting with £500 and then suddenly changing that to £1000. He kept insisting I shouldn't tell anyone about it, claiming he was doing it for my own safety because some scammers were after my card. Honestly, it’s quite alarming - someone like this could easily trick elderly or vulnerable folks. He also claimed he knew which bank I used, but he actually got that part totally wrong.

Today, I got a call on my home phone from a guy who said he was Chris Morris from Barclays. He claimed there had been some suspicious activity on my debit card. Then he asked how close the bank was and told me I had to visit the branch tomorrow to meet him. He also gave me a code, said it was 1998, and insisted I wouldn’t be able to use my card for the next day. Some might get worried hearing that but I knew straight away it was just a scam.
