Got a message from my child's mate saying their phone was dying, then suddenly the number changed on WhatsApp to a ‘new’ one and they started asking for cash. Looks like the classic send-money trick to me.

They called me saying they were my kid, asking for a friend’s phone number because they supposedly lost their own. Felt weird from the start, like a classic lost phone trick trying to get info. Glad I didn’t fall for it and didn’t give out anything. Be careful, these scams are getting sneaky!
