Got a text from this number saying I had some sort of rebate waiting from HMRC. Turns out it’s a well-known scam that HMRC has warned us about. Definitely avoid clicking any links they send you.

Got a msg from this number claiming to be from the UK Government saying I was due a tax refund. Just so you know, the UK Gov never texts about rebates like that, it’s all a scam going around right now. I checked on official government sites and even BBC mentioned this scam is trying to trick people into giving their bank info. Seriously, don’t tap on any links they send from this number.

Got a message from this number claiming to be from the UK Government about a tax refund. Just so you know, the government doesn’t send texts like that. It’s a well-known scam right now. I checked on official sites and the BBC, and they all say it’s a trick to steal your bank info. Definitely avoid clicking any links they send!
