Curious, I asked what that meant, and they just laughed, saying "why you live in UK if you don’t even know this?" As far as I know, gfc means Global Financial Crisis, not some official government body. The call was all about clearing debts or something, total scammy rubbish.

IGNORE THIS CALL - Got a scam call from some call centre in Asia, they straight up said they charge extra fees for putting you through. They started off claiming to be a government programme to help with repaying loans and the like. When I tried to ask for details, the caller ended up being racist towards me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Just received a dodgy call from an Asia-based contact centre, brazenly confessing to charging a higher rate for connecting your call. They kick off by claiming they're part of some government initiative designed to assist with loan repayments and the like. While I was attempting to extract details from him, he hurled racial insults my way. I've scrutinised all my call logs to see if any charges have been applied, but thus far, nothing shows up. I’ve been getting loads of calls like this as well. You should definitely report it to OFCOM, they’ll look into it properly. They might ask you to share a specific time you got a call from that number. It’s unfair these companies get off so easily, they ought to be fined! You can make a complaint by ringing 0300 123 3333 or through the OFCOM website under abandoned and silent calls. Also, it might be worth contacting your phone provider to see if they can block the number for you. Hopefully this info helps!

Absolute nightmare of a firm trying to get you to join them to slash your debt by 70%. The only way that’d ever happen is if you actually clear your debts yourself! This number calls me about 5 or 6 times every day. I never pick up. After seeing all these reviews, I’m definitely not going to. They keep leaving annoying voicemails even though I’ve blocked them now.

This bloke was acting like some financial advisor, even after I said I wasn’t interested and asked him to remove my number. He claimed he couldn’t and that he’d pass my number on to about 20 different companies. I told him to sod off and ended the call, but he phoned back calling me a slag and wishing bad things on me. Don’t pick up, just block the number.

No one spoke when I picked up, then just as I was about to put the phone down, some Asian bloke said hello. I ended up leaving the phone on the sofa while I finished hoovering and eventually he just gave up and hung up lol. I've blocked the number now.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be Credit Council, but they've used other names before. When I asked them to take me off their list, they wanted to know why. I just said, "Because I said so," and then this bloke with an Asian accent went and called me a "white bastard." Seriously??

They’ve rung me loads of times today, and after reading what others have said I’m glad I didn’t pick up. Proper dodgy and creepy behaviour. Wish the authorities would step in, this is really unsettling.

I get calls from them around three or four times daily, always claiming I owe money that I definitely don’t. When I explained this to the guy on the line, who sounded Asian, he got really abusive, threatening to drain my bank account and wreck my life. Then, whenever I try calling the number back, it just won’t connect or says unknown. They’re absolute scammers and people should be warned about them - especially older folks or anyone vulnerable who might believe this rubbish!!!

I usually dont bother picking up when i dont know the number. My voicemail kicks in straight away but this one keeps calling me like twice or three times every day! After looking at what others have said on here, I'm really happy I ignore it. Has anyone figured out who they are through the TPS?

I got calls from this number about four times today. When I said I wasn’t interested, the person went and called me some awful names like a f##king slag. Just like with other calls I've had, when my partner tried ringing back, the number didn’t show up anywhere. Really dodgy.
