Just wanted to share what I’ve been doing to try and put a stop to these scammers who prey on people and bug the rest of us. It’s a bit of a hassle, but I’ve started logging scam calls and texts by reporting them to the police database (I saved the page in my bookmarks for quick access). The truth is, it’s gonna take loads of folks doing the same before any real change happens. I see plenty of people flagging scam calls here daily, yet it’s slow going. Don’t expect instant results from reporting, but doing nothing will just let these scams keep on going without a hitch.

Got a text saying I’d added a new device to my Santander online banking and to click a link if it wasn’t me. Thing is, I don’t even have an account with Santander. Definitely looks like some dodgy scam trying to get me to click something.

I got a message saying it was from Santander, claiming an unknown device had accessed my account, and it included an email link to click on. Knowing how banks don’t usually do that, I just blocked the number straight away.
