Got a text pretending to be from the NHS saying I’d been near someone with Omicron and need to do a PCR test. The message sends you to a site that looks just like the NHS one, but then asks for your card info to pay 99p postage, plus your address. THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. Never give out your details like that. If you’ve fallen for it like I did, get in touch with your bank straight away to warn them! Big thanks to this site for helping people spot these dodgy scams!

Got a call from someone claiming I was near a person who tested positive for covid. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

Got a text saying it was from Test & Trace telling me to get a PCR test. I rang 119 to make sure and they confirmed it’s a total scam. The aim is to trick you into giving your bank card info. Test & Trace told me they no longer send texts, only use their app now. Best thing to do? Cancel your card straight away.

Got a text from 07658 487081 claiming I’d been close to someone with the omicron variant and that I should order a PCR test. They said I had to cover delivery charges and asked for my bank details. Thankfully I didn’t give anything away, but I really worry about people who have been tricked by this and might find their accounts emptied.
