Initially, the caller was silent, then I heard a faint click followed by a "hello." This suggests a system that only connects when one responds. The individual on the line claimed to be from Openreach, allegedly reaching out to discuss an issue with my internet router. However, I've been online without any glitches all morning. He attempted to talk over me repeatedly, which was quite frustrating. When I inquired about the name and address he supposedly had, he insisted he didn’t possess those details because it was merely a service call. I couldn't quite believe that, and clearly, neither could he, despite his conviction. I chuckled and firmly told him to shove off as he was obviously a scammer. Since my mobile number isn’t linked to my internet provider, there was no conceivable way this call could be authentic.
