I received a One-Time Password via text from this number. I've since blocked and removed it from my contacts. Interestingly, there's another number that's pulled the same trick, and I'll share that one in a different post. Best not to engage with them!

Last Thursday, the 11th of May, 2022, I received a rather dubious call from this number, requesting that I provide my banking information under the pretext of needing it for a PCR test. They claimed I’d come into contact with someone who had tested positive for Covid-19. Quite frankly, it seemed all too fishy! I plan to report this number both to my bank and to Which, so they can warn others about this scam. It’s definitely not from the legitimate NHS site, that's for sure!

I received a request to order a PCR test kit, but I noticed that there was absolutely no mention of it on my official NHS Covid-19 application. Consequently, I decided to delete the text and block the number altogether.

Got a call from someone claiming to be NHS Track and Trace saying I had to order a PCR test. They sent me a link that looked just like the official NHS site. I even entered some info, but when it asked for payment, I got really suspicious and stopped. Definitely a scam!

It’s NOT just spam, it’s a proper SCAM. Lots of people here mention how to get these dodgy numbers reported to the cops. If nobody reports these scams, how’s anyone gonna catch the criminals?

My elderly mum, she’s 92 and on her own, got a text claiming she’d been near someone with covid. There was a link included, but we’ve always told her not to tap on links from numbers she doesn’t know. She got a bit stressed thinking she might’ve been near someone infected, but honestly, she hasn’t gone out or seen anyone for ages now. These fraudsters are just awful, absolute scum.

Make sure you have a look at all the comments here, there’s some really useful tips I found when I visited this site today (12th May) about reporting sketchy calls and stuff. If a number seems dodgy and you don’t see anything on it right away, it’s worth trying again later. I’m lucky to know a bit about scams and how they tick, but many folks don’t have a computer or know how to protect themselves online, so I flagged this number as risky.

Been getting loads of dodgy covid texts recently. If you look down below, there’s some handy info on how to report these scam numbers. I get hit with these spam calls and messages all the time, so I just block ’em whenever they pop up. Really wish there was a better way to put an end to these con artists once and for all.
