Got a call from someone with a thick accent, saying they were from BT’s London branch. They said BT had sent me a text with a four-digit code I was supposed to enter. Oddly, the message popped up on my mobile (which isn’t even with BT) while he was speaking to me on my BT landline. I kept asking what the code was for, but he just got annoyed and ended up yelling insults at me before hanging up. What’s creepy is that he knew my name and mobile number - makes me wonder if they got that info from BT somehow.
