Got a phone call from an Asian gentleman claiming it wasn't a scam and he had full control. He kept mentioning my email address, I said it’s none of his business and my provider wouldn’t share where my email was being used. I’m well and truly fed up with these scammers. They should seriously get a proper job instead of using Covid-19 as an excuse to trick innocent folks.

Someone called ‘Franklin’ rang me, haha. Said there was some issue with my computer. As soon as I told him I wasn’t about to let him have remote access (haven’t even turned on my computer in ages), he just dropped the call. These scammers really need to be stopped. There’s always someone out there gullible enough to get caught up in this nonsense and it could end badly for them.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from "Global Support." He actually knew my name, which freaked me out a bit, then started asking about my computer. Got calls from this exact same number, but this time it was about my electricity tariff rather than anything to do with my laptop. Ive gotten these calls loads of times before and since it’s the same number they used for the computer scam, it’s clear that the electricity tariff calls are a scam too. Because you can find electricity MPAN numbers online from official websites, the scammers get hold of them and try to make their call seem legit. Gas MPRN numbers aren’t public, which is why they only mention electricity stuff, not gas.

Some bloke from 'global tech solutions' rang me, called me Mr even though that's not my name, but somehow had my name and email. He claimed I'd missed some alerts from Microsoft and wanted to help fix my PC. He asked me to grab a pen and paper for the serial number and model info so he could assist. I tried telling him I had no probs and wasn't interested, but he just talked over me. Usually I assume these random calls are dodgy scams, but I do like hearing what they say and seeing how often they mess up their own stories. Bit harsh maybe, but kinda entertaining.
