Scammers claiming to be HMRC! HMRC only contacts you by phone if there’s already an open case and they’ve sent you a letter first. They don’t just call out of the blue.

If your phone can’t block calls directly, try making a contact for those annoying numbers and set it to go straight to voicemail. That way, you won’t get disturbed by them ringing through.

This number has rung me loads of times with a prerecorded message saying if I owe more than £6000 to press a button on my phone. It’s clearly a scam and pressing that button would likely let them get hold of my cash. Honestly, these scams need to be cracked down on and the people behind them should be locked up for ages.

Got a voicemail from a cheerful woman saying I'd won £6,000. Absolutely not true! I hung up immediately so I missed the rest. I reckon if someone’s desperate for cash, they might fall for it though.

Got a call from 07561238981 this morning at about 10.21, then another one from 07487812776 right after, like five minutes later. I just let both ring off. Really frustrating when you're job hunting and these idiots won't stop ringing.

My phone’s "####" app flagged this number as "Possible Scam" before I picked up. I looked it up here to see if others had issues, and it’s listed as "Risky" with almost 5,700 searches. Really glad these blocking apps and sites exist for quick checks. Obviously, I've blocked it now, but you just know they'll probably switch numbers once this one gets blacklisted.

Just like the last person said, I hung up straight away and got another call less than 5 minutes later from ?07394 055540?. They’re proper annoying. Had about 15 calls this week from different mobiles, none of which you can ring back, and no messages left. It’s clear they’re just trying to hassle people with fake debts and stuff. WHEN IS OFCOM GONNA DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS?? Thought there was meant to be a £250k fine for these rubbish call centres.
