I got a call from someone who said his name was “Michael” (not sure if that was true given his accent), claiming he was from Vodafone, my supposed phone provider. Apparently, my phone was said to be illegally accessing their network and there could be a warrant out for me unless I paid a fine immediately over the phone. I’ve been targeted by this scam at least three times in the past couple of months. The thing is, I’m not even a Vodafone customer. This scam is really nasty, trying to scare folks into handing over their bank details. Be careful, it’s clearly a fraud.
