Got a call from someone with a South Asian accent saying they'd spotted an iPhone order on my Amazon account and wanted my okay to cancel it. They said they'd sent me an OTP code to confirm the cancellation, asking me to read it out to them. Turns out, that code actually lets them get into your whole Amazon account. When I asked them who they were and refused to share the code, they just ended the call. Amazon really should be clearer about what these OTP codes are for, especially since it’s easy for older folks to get tricked by this kind of thing.
