Looks like they’ve rebranded as the Insurance Doctors and are still based in Leeds, just like Compare your Cover - likely the same company. You can’t get through on the mobile number, but I found a 03335777626 number on their site. I called them back silently and after a minute a bloke answered with “Hello, is that Mr Burgess?” which pretty much proves it was them ringing me earlier.

Received a call on my mobile from a number I’ve never given out and even my mates don’t have it saved. I usually ignore calls from unknown numbers, so didn’t pick up. It went straight to voicemail but there was no message left.

Got a call from some Tom Murphy asking for his dad, Brian Murphy. He went on about his mum, Danielle Smith, having a one night thing in London 21 years back. Now he wants to chat to my husband, same name, maybe sort a paternity test. Saying he wants a dad for Christmas like it’s that easy. Honestly, he must think I’m daft!

I managed to save a nice bit on my life insurance recently. They kept calling for weeks and I only picked up after a while. I was a bit wary about sharing info at first but turns out they were just asking simple questions, nothing dodgy at all.

Got a call at our landline, my daughter picked up and the woman claiming to be Louisa from compare your cover was on the line. When my daughter said I wasn’t around, the woman actually swore before just hanging up. It really upset my daughter. I’ve now blocked their mobile number but you can't call them back anyway. Seems like a dodgy outfit, I checked and they’re based in Worcester.

Non stop calls, then they just cut off, its pure harassment at this point, honestly they should be banned and even prosecuted. It’s really starting to push me over the edge with all this nonsense.

These lot are proper annoying, keep calling me a couple of times a day for ages. One time they even asked for my wife by name, then just hung up when they found out it wasn’t her. Every time I try calling back it says the number’s no longer active, but they keep ringing and then cutting off.

I got three calls from this number on 7 December, all around the evening - roughly at 6:15pm, 6:45pm, and then again at 7:22pm, even after I'd blocked it. The day before, it kept ringing in quick bursts, and also on 4 December, I got two calls from 07966 607131. I tried ringing back but apparently they don’t take return calls. Each call was really brief and they never left a voicemail. Now, I just ignore calls from numbers I don't know. Fire Dog.

After seeing the reports here and wanting to check it out myself, I rang that number. It really seemed like a proper line at first, sounded like Virgin's voicemail. I ended up just waiting in silence on the answerphone for about 8 minutes and 46 seconds. Bit of a waste, to be honest. Fire Dog

Got a call from someone with a quite posh accent asking for me. Turned out to be a life insurance sales pitch. I said I wasn’t interested, she kept pushing though. I said I wasn’t interested again and asked why she was so persistent. Then I said, hang on, who even are you? The woman just hung up on me!

This number has been driving me and my husband mad, been getting calls almost daily from 07553975966. Sometimes when you answer and say hello, they just hang up, other times they start talking about insurance then hang up anyway. Today they even said my name and claimed they'd heard I’d been in a car crash, when I was actually at home putting my Christmas tree up. Proper annoying! They also call from different numbers too. Honestly wish someone would do something to block this nonsense. And how on earth do they get hold of your phone if it’s meant to be private? So frustrating!

Got a call from these lot for the sixth time today. Finally picked up and they asked for me by name, which was a bit creepy. Told them I wasn’t the person they wanted and that I found the whole thing a pain. They were calling about Compare My Cover and got really rude when I said again I wasn’t who they were after. Then they just said they didn’t want to talk to me and cut me off. Honestly, they’re so obnoxious and disrespectful, someone really ought to do something about this.

This number 07553975966 kept ringing me non stop, saying it was regarding a car crash I supposedly had. I got really annoyed, so next time they called, I told them I died in that accident. They quickly hung up after that, haven’t heard a peep from them anymore.

I got calls from these lot six times today, finally picked up and they were asking for me by name which felt a bit dodgy. Told them it wasn’t me and mentioned a firm called Compare my Cover or something like that. They got really snappy when I said I wasn’t who they wanted, then just said they didn’t want to talk anymore and hung up. So disrespectful, honestly, someone should really do something to stop them. I tried searching for that company but can’t find any record of them at all.

My husband picked up my phone after they kept ringing about 4 or 5 times within an hour. The guy on the line just wouldn’t leave it, even when we told him to remove my name and number from their list. When I asked where they got my info from, as I never asked for a call, he said it was from Datababy. I said I’d never even heard of that company, but he acted like I was daft and said I should be more careful about ticking or unticking the info sharing box on surveys. I always check stuff over and over.

i got a call while i was in the middle of a class. didn’t pick up because it felt:
1. disrespectful to the person teaching
2. inconsiderate to everyone else in the room

This number rang me twice on 14/10/2016 at 2:18 and 5:19pm, then again on 31/10/2016 at 5:31pm and yet another time on 1/11/2016 at 1:22pm. It looked quite suspicious and possibly unsafe, so I checked THIS site to see what others had reported, which is my usual routine with unfamiliar numbers before I call back. Of course, I just block and delete these "dodgy" numbers from my mobile. Interestingly, it’s only my mobile that seems to get these calls, not my landline. But whenever I do get strange calls on my landline, I make sure to look them up here too.

This number has been ringing me every 4 or 5 days since 22/9/16. I tried calling it back but kept hearing a message saying the number isn’t recognised and to check and try again. On 1/10/16 I finally got someone on the line, some random person from an insurance firm claiming they wanted to make a claim for a car accident I supposedly had. I told her I never had an accident and the rude woman just hung up on me! Worst cold caller I’ve ever dealt with. Still, they keep ringing every few days, and I just say “nope, still no accident” then hang up straight away.

Got a call from this woman while I was working, trying to sell me life insurance (which I literally just signed up for, so I told her that). Then she just ended the call on me!! Proper cheeky! I wouldn’t dream of hanging up on someone who’s been polite, especially when most people loathe cold calls! That’s just bad manners. If she wants to keep customers, she really needs some training in how to deal with people, or maybe think about a different career altogether.
