So this number rang me and claimed they were from HMRC, saying a letter they sent me got returned and that I was facing legal trouble. They said I could talk to someone about it, so I asked for the person’s name and address, but then they just hung up. I figured maybe it was a mix-up on my end. I tried calling back, but it said the number wasn’t valid. Honestly, I didn’t even question the number at first since I get loads of calls from familiar numbers all the time.
