Got a robocall telling me my National Insurance number was under investigation and that there was a warrant out for my arrest. Then I got transferred to an Indian call centre where a man claiming to be Officer Peterson asked for my details. He accused me of money laundering and smuggling, then told me to get the phone number of my nearest police station so I could talk to an officer about the case. After that, he said my local cops would be in touch soon. I’m just waiting to see what their next move will be. It was quite ridiculous but I can see how older or more vulnerable folks might get really frightened by it.
