This number rang me earlier and I ended up speaking to a lady who claimed she was calling from a health organisation. She asked for my date of birth to verify who I was and wanted to know if I’d had my covid jab so she could update my records. It felt a bit off though, especially since the call wasn’t from a hidden or private number like the NHS usually does. I’m a bit wary this might be some scammer trying to get hold of my DOB for dodgy purposes.

Last year, I got a call from a lady claiming to be from the public health department, asking for a Mr Hassan. I told her firmly that no one by that name lives at my number and asked her to stop ringing me. She sounded quite posh, with a clear English accent, no foreign twang or anything. I was quite annoyed and spoke rather sharply. Eventually, she said sorry and hung up.

Got a call from a woman named Angie claiming to be from the public health team at my local council, saying she was ringing on behalf of my doctors’ surgery. Before she’d explain the reason for her call, she wanted my date of birth. I asked her to tell me the DOB she had so I could check if it was correct, but instead she gave me the local council’s main phone number to confirm if she was legit. We agreed she’d ring back at a set time, but she never did. When I called the council, they said their public health folks were making calls like this, but my doctor’s office said they didn’t know anything about it and wouldn’t have shared my contact details or DOB. Not sure if it was genuine, but it felt fishy she didn’t call back. If it was real, I reckon it was something to do with encouraging me to get the Covid jab.

I got a call from a lady saying she was with the public health office. She knew my name already and asked for some private info. When I told her she was messing with my data privacy, she just gave me a number for the local council. Felt really dodgy.

So this woman called me, said her name was Angie and somehow she knew my name. Claimed it was my doctor who gave her my phone number. I told her that sounded dodgy under GDPR rules, and she told me to ring the council. Of course, they had no clue what she was on about. Then she phoned me once more saying her boss said to get back to me. Didn’t give her a single detail. Is this actually allowed now or have we officially gone full Big Brother?

I got a call from a number saying it was Public Health England, but as far as I know, they don’t exist anymore. They wanted details about my vaccine record, but I didn’t share anything. I then rang my doctor and they were totally unaware of this.
