The number 07548835110 called my landline while I was away from it, and frankly, that was a stroke of luck! Thankfully, I was able to obtain the details of the last incoming call through 1471. Mere moments later, I noticed a call from 0330 arriving on my mobile phone, which I had in my hands. However, as I had blocked that caller weeks prior, it didn’t ring; and, low and behold, it was those charlatans claiming to be from O2 loyalty. But honestly, I’ve been with O2 for years, and I know for a fact that their loyalty team doesn't engage in such calls-only their direct sales team does! Even though the 0330 number persisted in its attempts to reach me despite being blocked, I could still see their futile efforts, which have been numerous; it’s quite sad really. There's something very fishy about a ‘mobile number’ dialing my landline, followed immediately by that blocked 0330 number trying to reach me on my mobile. It’s astonishing how oblivious they are! The first time they managed to get through to me on that 0330 number-I had answered out of curiosity, as I was waiting for a different call. The moment I picked up, they launched into a barrage of questions, demanding I confirm my identity. I simply replied, "Who are you? What is it you want?" After an uncomfortable silence, they stated, "O2. Loyalty…" To which I retorted, "No, you’re not! Genuine loyalty schemes don’t make outbound calls, ha!" Quickly, I hung up and blocked the number. I daresay it must have frustrated them, as they’ve been attempting to reach me time and again, despite the block diverting their calls. Then today, they resort to that mobile number, and when that didn’t yield a response, off they went again trying the 0330 number! It’s far too coincidental not to connect the dots; it’s as if they’re cut from the same cloth, or rather, engaged in the same shabby scam. Their haste is laughable; they clearly lack finesse. It's quite evident they’re desperate to steal either my information or funds. Honestly, there are better ways to earn a living than this childish nonsense! Just to clarify, heed my warning about these area codes. O2’s loyalty department isn’t in the habit of calling customers, only sales do that. How do I know this? Well, I spent time working for them and have a solid decade’s worth of experience in tech, where I was consistently trained on how to spot phishing and scams. They really picked the wrong number to mess with here. If only I could trace their IP address-I could give them a taste of their own medicine! But alas, I pride myself on being a decent human, so I shall leave it be. But mark my words, karma has a way of catching up to such miscreants!
