Like a few folks have mentioned, this is just a texting scam. They hit you up with messages, never calling, asking for cash like £2,980. Don’t fall for it.

Got a message that looked like it was from my son, saying "Morning Mum, new number here, save it ❤️", but it was actually a text scam. My mother in law nearly got tricked and was asked for £2,980. Luckily, the payment was blocked since it was above the limit for first transfers, so no money was lost. Best to just ignore these texts and not respond.

Beware, this is a scam text! We got one saying “Morning mum, got a new number, save it ❤️” and my mother in law thought it was her son messaging. Luckily they asked her for £2980, which is way too high for a first time transfer, so she didn’t lose any money. Seriously, don’t respond to stuff like this.
