Just got a message sayin my PayPal account is locked because of some dodgy payment. They want me to click a weird link like [#}ref5040-paypail###] to fix it. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it. It’s a shame the police dont seem to care or even check these things.

Got a dodgy text from EE saying my bill hadn’t gone through, but it looked really fishy to me. Definitely a scam trying to catch people out. Be careful if you get something like that!

My elderly parent, who only uses their phone for emergencies and doesn’t have internet access, got the same message. Luckily, they had the good sense to let me know about it. I’ve told them to just delete this message and ignore any like it that may come along. I’m not supposed to curse, but honestly, I hope the awful folks behind these messages get what’s coming to them and end up worse off than the distress they cause to others.
