Pretty much the same thing happened to me, someone called pretending to be my daughter saying she'd broken her phone and was using a mate’s number. They asked me to WhatsApp the new number then tried to get me to transfer £950 for a bill. I nearly went for it until I said I only had £900 on me, then they asked if I could get the rest off her dad - but my daughter hasn’t spoken to him in years so it immediately felt off.

Got a text from +447546336534 saying it was Avri and that I had a parcel to collect. Seems dodgy to me, probably a scam.

I received a message from this number claiming to be my child, saying their old phone broke and this is their new number. But when I phoned both my grown-up kids, they said they’re still using the same phones and don’t have a different number. Bit fishy if you ask me.

I received a message from this number saying it was my child's new phone as their old one had broken. I then rang my two grown-up kids and both said they weren’t using a different number and their phones were working perfectly.

Got a text about an Airbnb payment, wasnt sure if its legit or just a scam. It asked for my details and stuff, felt kinda dodgy so I didn’t reply. Anyone else get these? Just wanna be sure before I do anything.

Just got a message and decided to check it out, turns out it's a scam alert about dodgy texts claiming to be from EVRi, the delivery company that used to be Hermes. Apparently, these scammers have been sending messages over the last few months saying you need to reschedule a delivery, hoping you'll believe you've got a parcel on the way. If you click the link, it takes you to a site designed to get you to download malware that can steal your info and mess with your finances. Really glad I double checked before clicking anything!
