2 yearsSo I got a message on WhatsApp from someone claiming to be my son, saying his phone was busted and he’d switched to a new number. He told me he couldn’t get into his online banking and needed me to pay a bill by 2pm that day. When I asked how much, he said it was £2100.69 and that it was some old bill. He promised to pay me back tomorrow if I could sort it out. I checked with my real son and quickly realised it was a scam. Lesson learned for me - always double-check with your family before handing over any money. If I hadn’t, I’d have lost a fair bit of cash.WhatsApp2 yearsSo, this numpty called my dad pretending to be me, trying to pinch £2000 off him using this very number.
