My elderly family member got a message from +447543 540941 at 2:56 PM on Sunday, 18th September 2022. The text included a dodgy link for some supposed British Gas discount: https://energy.billI-rebate.com. Just a heads-up that it’s all a scam - stay vigilant! When it comes to energy discounts, you don't have to apply; they will be given directly to you as a customer.

I received a call supposedly from GOV-UK, but it turned out to be a con! They claimed I could get a discount on my energy bills through some government-backed scheme. They wanted me to follow a link, but I smartly declined to engage.
