I recently got a text from the number 07543524347, purporting to be from GOVUK. It claimed I could get a discount on my energy bills through the energy bill support scheme and encouraged me to click a link. The link was HTTPS://energy.bill-rebate.com. Upon visiting it, the website resembled the genuine GOVUK site but asked for personal information. I advise steering clear of this-it's clearly a scam. Just a word of caution!

Utterly dodgy! They're pretending to be from the government and are after my bank information - I've blocked the number sharpish!

It seems rather dodgy, to be honest. The website looks a bit like something from Gov.uk, but it has a different web address and the links are all over the place. Once you put in your information, they prompt you for your card details, including the CVC code. It’s quite unsettling, as no one should ever be obliged to provide that sort of information.
