Received a rather dubious text saying, 'Free Msg; according to my records, you could claim £3,750 for an accident you've had. Just reply CLAIM to this message to get started. If you wish to unsubscribe, text STOP.' The thing is, we haven’t had any accident, let alone one that would involve such a payout. It seems like a classic scam to us, and we're apprehensive that even if we reply with STOP, they might hit us with charges or figure out that our number is active. Has anyone else encountered this scam or can shed light on how these tricksters operate?

Absolutely, I encountered the very same thing just today! We were advised to reply with 'STOP', yet I wasn’t entirely certain what the consequences might be for doing so. It's all feeling rather suspicious, and I noticed I missed a call from a number that I distinctly recall belonging to a marketing company. To top it off, I received another text from a similar number as well. Quite frustrating, I must say!
