On the 18th of March 2022, I got a text claiming to be from Royal Mail asking me to pay £2.99. Obviously a scam. Then on the 20th, I received the same message again but this time from the number 07734 373681. Really dodgy stuff.

Honestly, blocking these calls is pointless. These fraudsters have endless fake numbers at their disposal. There’s a few tips on here about how to actually stop these scams, but it needs everyone who gets these nuisance calls to chip in and follow through. Otherwise, nothing’ll change.

Got a text saying it was from Royal Mail about a parcel delivery. I’m pretty sure Royal Mail usually leaves a card through the door if they try to deliver but can’t, or if there’s an issue like postage not being right. Then they ask you to either arrange a redelivery or pick it up from the sorting office. Just a heads up, Royal Mail advises not to click on or open these random texts - it's safest to delete them and block the sender.

I got a rather dodgy text that read: Royal Mail: Your delivery needs further action. To review and see the status of your order, go to: ... As I’m expecting a parcel, I stupidly clicked on the link and found this message: Redelivery We have a parcel for you, but the fees are insufficient on the account. Tracking ID: JA586762673GB Your package is currently at your local delivery depot, and there's still some fees to settle. This situation may have arisen due to the ever-changing procedures brought about by COVID-19. To proceed with the shipment to your address, we require a payment of £2.99. If you’re comfortable with these current demands, please click "Book a Redelivery" below to kick off the process. Book a Redelivery If you don’t respond, the parcel will be sent back to the sender within a fortnight. I did click on the "Book a Redelivery" option, but then they asked for my date of birth, which made me pause - why do they need that? FEELS LIKE A SLY SCAM. BEST TO AVOID!

I recently received a message purporting to be from Royal Mail regarding a parcel delivery that supposedly required an unpaid fee.
