Got a ring from this number today. It’s got the Oxford area code, where my lad is based, which made me suspicious right away. The person on the other end had an accent I struggled to catch, said they were from some Road Traffic Collision Department, asking if we’d been in a small car accident linked to this phone number in the past couple of years. We definitely haven’t, so I reckon it’s likely a scam. Pretty worrying, though. Don’t really get why anyone would bother making that call otherwise.
