Just got a message from +447551481971 saying something about HSBC - a new payee has been added from a device they didn't recognise. It told me to click a link if it wasn’t me to check or cancel it. Obviously, I ignored the link since I don’t even have an HSBC account. I rang my bank straight away to tell them about it and then blocked the number. Felt dodgy from the start.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me - got a call asking for donations for some charity or whatever. I told the guy that calls aren’t really trustworthy these days and asked him to send info by email or mail instead. He just ended the call right there, didn’t say another word. Sounds like a total scam to me.

This bloke called me claiming he was searching for local firms interested in placing ads in a magazine to support some charities. When I asked him to send me the info by email, he said the company was called Smile and that all the info was on their website. I asked once more for an email with the details, but he just hung up on me. Definitely seemed like a scam to me.

Some bloke rang up claiming he was from a charity that supports families with dying kids. It all felt a bit off, especially when he struggled to say my company’s name right and never told me his name. The moment I asked a few questions, he just hung up without warning.
